My favorite Disney movie is Moana. I may have seen it about fifty times (no exaggeration). Thanks, Netflix. Anyways, I really wanted to do a craft that could be for kids and adults. All of the Moana crafts that I find seem to be geared towards kids and are more child-like. I wanted something that I could put in my art room that looked more like decor. That being said, this is a very simple project for all ages! The best part? It's cheap. Most of the products I got from Dollar Tree.
What you will need to create this is:
⚹ a small decorative box from Dollar Tree
⚹ green & black paint
⚹ paintbrushes
⚹ moss, which you can find at Dollar Tree
⚹ small flowers (I bought mine from Etsy but the seller is no longer active.)
⚹ a hot glue gun
Now here's the simple steps to make this craft
First, paint the entire box green, making sure to do an extra coat or two until the paint is completely opaque.
Using a hot glue gun, apply the moss to the outer edges of the box.
Now add your flowers using more hot glue. Mine are plastic, but you could use small fake flowers from a craft store or make small flowers out of paper.
Draw on the face of Te Fiti. You can make yours as detailed as you'd like. I went back and cleaned up my lines with more green paint. I also took a pair of scissors and trimmed the moss on the bottom so that it sits upright easier.
And your done! So easy and so, so cute.
